Our connection to Naxos goes back a long way. As children, we spent countless weeks on the island’s beaches, traveling in our parents’ VW bus – barefoot in the warm sand, diving for shells, salty skin and a feeling of boundless freedom. Ice cream on the beach, the wind on our faces, sand between our toes. The turquoise sea, the endless beaches and the unique light of the Cyclades have deeply shaped our memories.

Around 23 years ago, we returned to Naxos as students. Since then, the island has never let us go. Almost every year we have come back, experiencing Naxos in all its facets and learning to love it more and more. Between Agia Anna and Kastraki, we now know almost every corner: the quiet coves, the most welcoming tavernas, the small paths away from the beaches and those special places where sunsets feel particularly magical. And the view from the mountains, overlooking the vast infinity of the Aegean Sea.

What we love about Naxos is its unique blend of openness, authenticity and lightness. The clear, turquoise water that changes its color with the light and the wind. Beaches that offer space – for swimming, wind- and kitesurfing, long walks and simply switching off. The constant breeze that softens the heat and clears the mind. The scents of salt, warm sand, wild herbs and summer air.

And not least, the tavernas: places of genuine hospitality and wonderful food, where simple, honest dishes, great olive oil and long evenings become a way of life – and where friendships are made. All of this makes Naxos so special to us: diverse, vibrant and at the same time deeply calming.

In Kastraki, we finally found the place where all these feelings come together. This is where Villa Aura was created – a peaceful retreat with sea views, nestled into the landscape and designed as a place to arrive, unwind and breathe. A home away from home, shaped exactly the way we love to spend our holidays: calm, open, filled with light and close to the sea.

There is nothing more beautiful than starting the day with a cup of coffee on the terrace or walking down to the beach to absorb the fresh energy of the morning sea. And ending the day with a good glass of wine, watching the sun set over Paros.

For us, Villa Aura has become a true home – a place we love returning to with our children, to slow down together, rediscover the island and create lasting memories. To recharge. To unwind. To leave everyday life behind.
